TBILISI CITY TOUR<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the tour you are given the opportunity to see the sights of the city, visit architectural and historical monuments reflecting the 1500-year history of the capital. For the old city is characterized by a kind of architecture, residential buildings are different balconies with Georgian carvings, the streets are narrow, paved. \nOn the left bank of the bridge is the temple of Sioni<\/strong>, founded in the 6th century. The venerable age of the temple is also indicated by the fact that its floor now lies almost three meters below the surface of the pavement. Abanotubani<\/strong> – this is where the history of the construction of Tbilisi begins, because \u201ctbili\u201d in Georgian means \u201cwarm\u201d. \u00a0A visit to the Prometheus Cave<\/strong> is a great opportunity to get to know the wonders of nature that Georgia harbors. Ancient Greek mythology tells that Prometheus was chained to a rock in a deep cave of the Caucasus as a punishment for teaching people to make fire. The natural palaces stretching underground are beautifully lit and equipped: a shimmering light falls on the stalagmites, small walkways are thrown across the underground rivers, and you can take a boat ride along the underground lake. From the depths comes the sound of a melody, to which is added the sound of water dripping from above. <\/span><\/p>\n

Canyons – Gachedili<\/strong>. During the excursion you will take a ride on an inflatable boat through the Gachedili canyons. The length of this nature reserve reaches 2400 meters, while the depth ranges from 20 to 40 meters. You will see a step-cascade waterfall, 12 meters high. <\/span><\/p>\n

Visit the famous Botanical Garden. This is a real Eden, come down from the biblical pages. Bamboo grove and cactus plantations, a Japanese garden with blossoming sakura and amazingly beautiful planting of blue eucalyptus trees, huge spruces planted along the avenue, and endlessly intertwining roots of ancient lianas. From the observation deck offers a magnificent and fascinating view of the coast and the slopes of Cape Verde<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Our road lies through the picturesque Rikoti pass<\/strong>. Having made a small stop, we will definitely try the most delicious sweet Georgian nazuki bread. Fragrant cinnamon-scented bread, fragrant with cinnamon, and hot with heat – what could be better! And in the village of Shrosha we will visit the pottery market. The best ceramics can be purchased here! Unique national clay products will be a good memory of Georgia!<\/span><\/p>\n

We leave in the direction of Tbilisi. We call in Borjomi. Borjomi<\/strong> is a resort town in Samtskhe-Javakheti, a region in southwestern Georgia. The city is famous for its mineral water Borjomi, which occupies the first position in exports in Georgia. Located in the Borjomi gorge of Kura, at an altitude of 800-850 meters above sea level. This resort is surrounded by mountains, which are covered with forests. The name of the city comes from the words “Borj” (“fortress wall”) and “omi” (“war”). According to an ancient legend, Borjomi was founded as a natural fortress, the walls of which served as the Caucasus Mountains. Guard towers were built on the slopes of the gorge to protect against the enemies, the remains of which still exist today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next – Chitakhevo Monastery of St. George – Green Monastery<\/span><\/p>\n

In Borjomi gorge, in the most beautiful place is Chitakhevo monastery of St. George. People lovingly call it the \u201cGreen Monastery\u201d, since all the trees in the gorge are distinguished by shades of green, like the stones from which the monastery is built. They are all green, but some are dark and others are light.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to scientists, the church was built by the disciples of the famous Georgian figure of St. Grigol Khantsteli – Christopher and Theodore.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the 16th century, during the invasion of Shah Tamaz, the monastery was plundered. Dozens of monks were killed or tortured. The stones shed by the monks were absorbed by stones thrown into the Chitahevi River. These bloody stones lie almost the entire length of the river, which flows through the territory of the monastery.<\/span><\/p>\n

For centuries, worship in the temple was not conducted. In the 80s of the last century, the temple was restored. And in 2002, after many centuries, the monastery began to operate.<\/span><\/p>\n
